Are Policy Fees Taxable in Montana?

YES, in Montana all policy fees EXCEPT for producer fees are subject to applicable premium and fire tax assessments and MUST be reported in the Policy Fees field in SLIP+.  Policy fees are also subject to the SLIP+ Transaction Fee.  Although producer fees are not taxable, they must still be reported in the Producer Fee field in SLIP+.  Please refer to the FAQ “DOES MONTANA ALLOW A PRODUCER FEE AND IS IT TAXABLE?” and Montana Code Annotated citation 33-15-102 MCA Definitions for more information.
