The Office of the Montana State Auditor | Commissioner of Securities and Insurance requests information regarding the non-admitted insurance that was written in Montana for the year 2026 and going forward. This data is being requested to assist with the reconciling of premium written by non-admitted insurance companies with the premiums reported by Montana surplus lines licensees and independently procured coverage insureds. As of the date of this notice, non-admitted insurers writing business in Montana will use SLIP+ for States to submit policy data on a quarterly (foreign and domestic) or annual (alien) basis.

Effective January 1, 2026, the Alabama Department of Insurance has adopted the SLIP+ for States platform for the reporting and payment of Alabama surplus line policy data and taxes in accordance with §27-10-31 of the Alabama Code.

The Colorado Division of Insurance hereby requests policy information regarding non-admitted insurance that was written in Colorado for year 2025 and all subsequent years. This data is necessary to assist with the reconciling of premium written by non-admitted insurance companies with the premiums reported by Colorado surplus lines producers and independently procured coverage insureds.

The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance requests that all non-admitted insurers doing business in Tennessee submit the information outlined in this bulletin
regarding surplus lines insurance policies written in Tennessee beginning with calendar year 2024 and going forward

The Oklahoma Insurance Department is requesting that all surplus lines carriers who write business in Oklahoma submit policy and premium information regarding the non-admitted insurance that was written in Oklahoma for the year 2024 and going forward.

The South Dakota Division of Insurance is requesting certain information regarding the non-admitted insurance that was written in South Dakota for the year 2024 and going forward.

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidance to surplus lines brokers and those who independently procure nonadmitted insurance for filing policy transaction data, quarterly reports and premium tax payments.
